Lex Tsai
A prolific filmmaker who started making music videos in America
at an early age. Since the 1980¡¦s, Lex has been participating in
music, film and television productions in the United States. Lex
is an experienced producer who produced numerous pop albums and
worked as a producer in Channel 56 of the Washington D.C.
television station. In 1989, he joined ¡§Phaedra Cinema¡¨ to
launch a fully professional career in the film industry.
His directorial debut
City Soldier
has brought massive attention during the US release. And his
following work
Steam Power
has also caught the eyes of the colleagues. Other works include
Hit &
Run,
The Lost People
in the City,
etc¡K After making some gradual progress in the US film industry,
Lex returned to Hong Kong and joined Win's
Movie and Television Production Limited
Company
to begin a career as a film producer and specialized in the film
distribution to Europe, America, with a global network.
Within ten years, Lex produced quite a number of
films which were well-received both by the critics and the
general audience. He earned a credible reputation in the
business and has a good relationship with actors, distributors,
investors and business partners. This made him an efficient
filmmaker no matter during pre-production, production or film
distribution. Lex is passionate about film production, he
directed himself two of the huge productions of 1996:
Generation Pendragon
and
Generation
Consultant
; and produced
the recent
Astonishing
and
Bar Paradise.
The latter solidifies his standing in the Thai market. Lex also
has a keen eye on casting. In
Bar Paradise,
he casted Nahatai Lekbumrung,
who held the title of Miss Peace in
Thailand, and
Pawarith Mongkolpisit, a film festival regular. Pawarith
Mongkolpisit notably won numerous film awards worldwide. The
film also casts
Infernal Affairs¡¦
brilliant actor Lam Ka-Tung, thus helped the film¡¦s global
release, and opened up a new film market for the Asian cinema. |
